Inspired by the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish, this piece is a tribute in solidarity with the Palestinian people and support of their liberation, acknowledging their rich history of planting their native Olive trees on the land. The piece acts not just as an artwork, but also doubles as a protest sign joining the rallies, starting with the Global Day of Action for Gaza (Jan 13) in Tāmaki Makaurau on January 14 2024.
